We are looking for Interior Designers with a variety of skill sets and training, who have a strong work ethic, proactive approach and are highly motivated and interested in working in a fast-paced collaborative studio.

 

BIM TECHNOLOGY MANAGER

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation, management and execution of BIM/digital modeling for projects through all phases of the design process.
  • Lead the transition from AutoCAD to Revit including developing a transition plan and assisting staff to move from one platform to the other as smoothly as possible.
  • Training staff, troubleshoot and change manage the software through transition and the months following implementation.
  • Work closely with Project teams to manage and maintain various project Revit models, build the Revit Library and Templates, and assist in the development and expansion of BIM capabilities within the office.
  • Identify and resolve opportunities around model-management to optimize performance and user experience.
  • Develop quality protocols and standards, stay current and establish, communicate, and interpret changes in best practices, protocols, and other related matters including how other software interacts with Revit.
  • Recognize the degree and complexity of a project and develop the right design technology to optimize project performance as well as support an integrated efficient project delivery framework.
  • Respond to general design technology support requests within the studio and for associated projects.

 

Qualifications and Skills Needed:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical training or prior work experience in the building industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a project-specific BIM/digital design role of all phases of design and delivery.
  • Experience with software implementation, releases and ongoing management
  • Experience and strength in training, troubleshooting and sharing knowledge with the end-user.
  • Ability to provide excellent, consistent service to internal and external clients in a supportive and professional manner.
  • Expert knowledge of Autodesk Revit Architecture.
  • Familiarity with design applications such as AutoCAD, V-Ray, 3DS Max, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, etc
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and troubleshoot problems and recognize alternative actions.
  • Creative thinker dedicated to problem solving, research, and innovation.

Junior Interior Designer

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, M. Arch/ID
  • NCIDQ, ARIDO registered
  • 2+ years’ experience as an Interior Designer in a design firm
  • Technically strong in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Passion for design with a creative and innovative perspective
  • Ability to express creative talent through conceptual design and rendering skills by hand or by computer sketching
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills
  • Support the design and renovation, new construction and contract administration of corporate workplaces and other projects.
  • Develop plans, elevations and 3-D models using AutoCAD and other relevant standard computer programs
  • Support senior staff with client site visits when required
  • Participation and taking of meeting minutes in client meetings
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Intermediate Interior Designer

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, M. Arch/ID
  • NCIDQ, ARIDO (registered or candidate)
  • LEED Certification is an asset
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Interior Designer in a design firm
  • Proven experience working with Corporate Workplace design projects including renovation and new construction & contract administration
  • Excellence in test-fits and space planning,
  • Technically strong in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of codes and regulations with design aspects in Canada & OBC
  • Ability to work independently on projects without direct supervision
  • Passion for design with a creative and innovative perspective
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Coordinate with vendors and sub-consultants in engineering to ensure the designed interior space meets with regulatory building codes.
  • Works well with a team

Senior Interior Designer

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, M. Arch/ID
  • NCIDQ, ARIDO registered
  • LEED Certification is an asset
  • 10+ years’ experience as an Interior Designer in a design firm
  • Proven experience working with Corporate Workplace design projects including renovation and new construction & contract administration
  • Excellence in design and design execution
  • Technically strong in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of codes and regulations with design aspects in Canada & OBC, AODA
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Passion for design with a creative and innovative perspective
  • Ability to lead a complete project team, including sub-consultants, and prioritize activities and deadlines to project completion
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation and communication skills
  • Manage multiple projects including project budgets
  • Advanced knowledge of sub-consultant and furniture RFP process and evaluation
